Algorithmic projection on acrylic paint and paper, 2016
Light flickers and dissolves across scratched paint and paper. A thousand cells holding a thousand whispering memories glow and ebb with activity, each a world in itself and a point in a greater web of luminosity. We see this web, its pulses and rhythms, but the thoughts and memories contained within are beyond our grasp, its driving logic and associations invisible. Are these imaginings, dreams, madness, or death? The dance of energies, once serene, gains in agitation. The blackness between the light, the gaps in the web, increase as the mind reaches ever frantically for pieces. And then, the white.
Absentia is an encounter with the incomprehensible Being, and the recognition of the beauty of opaqueness.
